Ford have announced that their production of vehicles in the UK will cease next week when it closes its final factory in Southampton. The factory in Southampton that sees several hundreds of Ford Transits pass through every year will come to a closure affecting 531 employees, on top of this on the same day it’s also closing another factory in Dagenham on the same date which will also see another 750 jobs lost, July 26th will be a sad day for Ford employees in the UK. Parking Fines Could Rise By Almost Double
Motorists outside of London currently pay approximately £70 at a maximum for a parking fine which is under an intense review. In London the price of a parking ticket is as much as £130 since Boris Johnston and Ken Livingstone increased the cap, this review could bring the first changes in parking fines outside of London since 2001. Dangers Of Falling Asleep Behind The Wheel
Falling asleep behind the wheel is a common occurrence unfortunately and can result in major accidents and even fatalities. A further warning comes after a viral video released on the internet shows a 71 year old driver falling asleep with a large amount of traffic going in his direction, the car hits a tree in the right embankment and flips into oncoming traffic where the rear end of the car goes into an oncoming cars windscreen. This often catches people out as they are not made aware of the fuel policy and they can sometimes assume that this is an additional charge and the rental company is trying to deceive them and make a quick buck from the customer however this is not the case and is pretty much standard procedure with almost all rental companies in Spain.
Another thing that people sometimes get tripped up on is the excess insurance. Many rental companies will offer this at the rental desk and this insurance excess reduces your liability down. This is optional in all cases however with some suppliers which offer the use of a Visa Debit card the additional insurance is mandatory.
It is always worthwhile checking this with the company prior to booking to ensure that you are always aware of the charges prior to travelling. This way you will not be ‘stung’ with any rental charges and additional costs as you will be made fully aware.

Mazda – New World Record
The Guinness book of world records awaits for Mazda to enter, a grand total of six hundred and eighty three Mazda MX-5s joined together to form the longest parade of driving Mazda’s ever. Why? To beat the existing record of course which was four hundred and fifty nine Mazda’s, so in that regard they didn’t just beat it they destroyed the record. Allard Kalff a TV presenter well known in Dutch TV led the charge with the CEO of Mazda Motor Europe as his passenger who went on to receive the official certificate. (more…)
