Car That Calls For Help

The European Commission wants all cars by 2015 to be ready to call an emergency number by themselves if the event of a crash happens and the owner is unable to call for help. Technology these days would make this possible, people crash all the time and many car crashes are fatal, could this new suggested system save lives? In the event of an accident the eCall will automatically send a message to emergency services, the true genius comes in the fact that the system won’t respond to lower impact parking errors such as parking so it wouldn’t waste emergency services time. Now however this has taken an apparent U-Turn with the current transport secretary saying that safety would be compromised. This however was strongly disagreed by Philip Hammond the former transport secretary who believes that the speed limit increase would save millions of pounds due to faster journey times as well as being safer. Aston Martin Luxury Car Revealed

This one’s for the petrol heads out there, the new Aston Martin Vanquish Volante bit of a mouthful if you ask me is the luxury car that Aston Martin have just unveiled. The first fully carbon fibre skinned Volante that the 100 year old history of Aston Martin has ever released. Some of the features are truly fantastic but for the price wow it should be, although I suppose it is a “luxury” car, as a loose term I would refer to it more as a speed demon technical term I know. The car boasts a price tag of £199,995 because the extra £5 to tip it over £200k was obviously a step too far. (more…)

The Risks of Ignoring Tyre Safety

More than half the amount of people driving the UK don’t perform regular tyre checks which can be a very serious matter. A tyre that is in good nick is more important than people presume, take for example a vehicle travelling on the motorway at 80mph the only thing ensuring that your car doesn’t hit the bottom of the road are your tyres. When you’re travelling at such a speed if your tyres aren’t taken care of they can chip away in small potholes and gravel or even just a normal road, evidently parts of your tyre can be worn away.
