Stansted airport going once, going twice, sold to the gentleman at the back for £1.5b. The owners of Manchester airport the Manchester Airport Group or MAG for short currently also as well own East-Midlands airport and Bournemouth airport made a bid of £1.5b for the struggling Stansted airport which was accepted and finalised early last week, it came as no surprise that MAG would bid to buy Stansted as they had a failed bid to buy Gatwick early 2009. Ford has designed a new seatbelt with a completely innovative idea. The Inflatable Seatbelt! It’s much like an airbag in the way that when a collision happens an inflatable bag expands preventing you from breaking bones by softening your impact preventing injuries which could cause damage or death, the idea that the seatbelt contains one of these tailor designed airbags which experts say they will be most effective in preventing children from breaking ribs, sustaining internal damage and bruising. These seatbelts are also said to spread the impact area of a crash to over five times larger than the traditional seatbelt which of course means less damage is focused on a particular part of your body. When booking a hire car people often want a specific make, model, colour, fuel type, transmission and engine size. These often can’t be booked specifically but below are the cans and cants when it comes to hiring a car with specific requests.
Most suppliers use SIPP codes when listing their fleet, which are the industry standard for determining the kind of car that is being rented. They comprise of 4 letters that designate size, type, transmission and a/c, respectively.
Debit card car hire is hard to find at the best of times however it’s particularly hard to find in Paris, we have managed to work our way round this in order for it to be made easier for you to arrange car hire with a debit card in Paris.
Being one of the largest tourist destinations in the world its often important to hire a car so we worked tirelessly to find a way of supplying you this option and the great news is that we now offer debit card car rental in two major locations within Paris.
One of these locations is Gare du Nord, the international train station and of course the destination/departure of the Eurostar making it a major station as in fact it is the busiest station in Europe with around 190 million customers per year. The other location is Levallois-Perret a suburb just outside of Paris with a distance of approximately 4 miles, within Levallois-Perret there are four rail stations and two free buses that circulate around town making it easily accessible. Two of the arguably main locations that we unfortunately cant supply Debit card car hire are Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) or also known as Roissy Airport and Orly airport.
Unfortunately there is no way of getting around the Orly airport location unless you get a taxi or something of that kind. However there is hope for the CDG airport, there is a direct rail from CDG airport to Gare du Nord that doesn’t take long at all and is very cost effective with a train available every 15 minutes and only costing €9.25 for an adult fare and would give you the option of Car Hire With A Debit Card In Paris.
These offers are only available with the Minimum Age being 21 (with additional charges) and no charge for over 25s. In order to be accepted it must be a Visa Debit with raised numbers which you can tell by running your fingers over the card. Unfortunately Solo, Electron, Switch, Maestro, Prepaid debit cards, prepaid credit cards and Laser cards are not accepted. However you MUST CALL OR EMAIL to reserve and we will make sure we book your car hire in Paris as we have selected suppliers.
We work with over 500 suppliers so if you were to go ahead and book online there is no guarantee you would get the supplier that is offering this deal and when collecting the car you may be charged the extra fee for your car hire.
Often car hire suppliers won’t let you rent a vehicle for just 24 hours (1 day), especially if it’s on a weekend. Several major car hire companies are only open for half days on Saturdays. They see a 24 hour rental as an inconvenience and due to this often don’t allow you to have that short term hire on weekends. They do this because the car will earn them money all weekend since they aren’t open on Sunday and making you have to return it on Monday giving you the car for two days when you may only of wanted one thus charging you for an additional day. The MOT test is designed to make sure your vehicle meets the minimum safety standards and environmental standards, this test is mostly carried out to ensure your safety and if your vehicle will be reliable. Your car needs its first MOT after 3 years of its registration; from then on it needs a yearly MOT.
Test centres are easily recognisable by their blue logo with three white triangles on the inside. When a test is carried out on your car, mechanics evaluate certain parts of the vehicle to see if it meets strict criteria and they issue you with a pass or a fail, in order to be legally allowed on the road your car must pass its MOT every year. If it fails it doesn’t deem your car unusable however there needs to be certain improvements like new parts or fixing certain parts in order for it to pass its test. (more…)

There is a term in the car hire world called “boomerang car hire”.
This term means basically an alternative way of travelling to and from an airport with minimal cost. You can pick a car up from a location near to your house and drive it to the airport bearing in mind there is no one way fees with indigo that you can give it back to the company at the airport. Following booking a debit card car hire Lamezia, one of our clients had landed at Lamezia Airport he then jumped into a taxi to the downtown location. To his surprise, he arrived at the branch in Lamezia and found that all of the shutters were down and there was no sign of the staff members at the Avis branch. Pensioners looking to hire cars are often not supported by rental companies and struggle to find a good deal for a task that should be so simple. They categorise all pensioners as being a risk with age resulting in loss of function such as sight and reaction times, however here at Indigo we often believe that sometimes this isn’t the case and seniors of the road should be allowed to easily hire a car without having to search high and low for a place willing to hire to them.
