Drivers Warned Over Accessories

There are hundreds of silly little accessories that you can put on your car to give it a personal touch but almost three quarters of motorists hate them. From eyelashes to fluffy dice there is everything to help soup your car up, possibly the worst being spoilers and loud exhausts. Are you an owner of a silly car accessory? You may be in for a shock when you hear the effect it can have on your car when you come to resell it.

More than nine in ten motorists claim they’ve never bought a vehicle with a silly accessory, in other words it could prove tricky to sell if you have strapped on some racer seatbelts. Despite this only 42% of driver believe that car accessories would bring the value of a car down, however according to John Ruskin spokesman for CarShop accessories are almost guaranteed to bring it down in price. Are you a person that likes to heavily “personalise their ride”? Be careful avoid the likes of Loud exhausts, big alloys or low profile tires as they can massively decrease the price and are costly to reverse in terms of changing them back.

I’ve never fully understood why people want to put certain accessories in their cars, fluffy dice on the mirror is enough for me or possibly if I’m feeling wild I’ll have a nodding dog but when it comes to spoilers and steering wheel covers, why? No matter the concern it is an acquired taste, something you don’t want when someone is coming to look at whether they want to buy your car or not especially because a third of us dislike these modifications making it extremely hard to sell, my advice is avoid accessories all together!
