Gatwick Eagerly Awaits 6m Passengers

Whilst many of us are preparing for our holiday’s staff at Gatwick are working their hardest and eagerly awaiting the expected six million passengers. The terminal is set to have splendid fun and entertainment in true summer style to welcome to the passengers passing through the airport, the expected influx is to be dated between 19th July and the 2nd September. Gatwick is always busy at this time of year but this is set to be a record breaker, let’s not forget that Gatwick is a single run way airport that see in excess of 34 million passengers a year.

What’s the biggest destination out of Gatwick? Spain of course as it has been for some time the most popular destination in the world. Surprisingly however there are new entry destinations into the top ten which are Dublin and Belfast which is suggesting that some people may be staying closer to home this year, maybe it’s the warm weather getting to our heads. The busiest day set to be on the tables of the Gatwick staff is 72,000 people expecting to depart from the airport on Friday 26th July.

There will be several activities with themed music, dance and family fun as well as circus acts and certain themes during the summer months in the Gatwick terminals as there appears to be an attempt to rebrand the busy airport to attract even more customers next year. The staff have also gone the extra length and if you look up the Gatwick website there will be a ton of handy advice as well as hints and tips for travellers, at the airport there will also be 120 ambassadors which were used during the 2012 London Olympics which will be there to give you a warm welcome and provide you with further information you may need.
