How Important Would You Deem Travel?
Today marks the first ever international day of Happiness, A holiday proposed by the United Nations General assembly so it only seems adequate then that a couple of surveys are thrown about. People from Britain often regard travelling as a very important event and some claim it has a huge effect on their overall happiness. How important would you deem travel towards your happiness? You may find the results of these surveys rather shocking.
Britain are the most likely people to travel alone when flying with a large 30% of people travelling solo, that can’t be fun right? UK is a very travel friendly nation with people jetting off to several destinations across the world for holidays or just to meet new people. It’s even claimed by 61% of those surveyed which is just shy of two thirds would rather have more time off from work to travel than a pay rise or their own office. Truly in love with travel us Britons.
The question is just how in love with travel are we? Some of you may find this shocking so turn away now if you are easily squeamish! Well here we go, 21% of people claim that they deem travel more effective on their happiness than a life changing event. Not too bad right? Wait till you hear the breakdown of the figures. 8% of people deem their happiness more effected by travel than their own marriage! If that didn’t shock you a further 7% deem travel more important on their overall happiness than buying a new house. Even if you thought that isn’t too bad and just laughed it off this last one will get you, 6% of people deem travel more effective on their happiness than the birth of their child. OUCH!
In conclusion Britain’s love for travel is a truly unbreakable bond, apparently more so than marriage.
