We can always tell when its approaching summer time and universities breaking up because we get an influx of one particular type of enquiry. The title of this blog may have given the game away..

I do however see the attraction of flying along route 66 with the wind in your hair or cruising along South Beach, Florida with the sun on your face. If you are just looking for a convertible then there are other options, The Chrysler Sebring, Audi A5 or the VW Golf Cabrio will all do the job.

So why a Mustang? I think the Ford Mustand Convertible is an icon, for the older driver its the car they have always wanted to drive and now they have the chance, why would you want a Chrysler Sebring when you can drive the car from Bullitt and be Steve McQueen while driving through the streets of San Francisco at least for one day…

What about those drivers that have never heard of Bullitt or Steve McQueen? Are you a young driver and struggling to hire a vehicle due to the age restrictions that most companies have? Young Drivers From Norway

We were recently contacted by two young drivers from Norway who were aged 22 years old and were wanting to rent a car within the USA, San Francisco to be exact. They each had held their licence for approximately four years and where wondering whether it would still be possible for them to hire.

The good news is that we can hire to these customers within the US as the young drivers age is 21 and you only need to have held your licence for a year prior to this, however you will be charged an additional young drivers fee per driver. It is also beneficial if you have a clean licence but any licence that has less than 6 penalty points with no major convictions will be accepted.

If you did however happen to have two drivers on the rental as they have requested above then they would each have to pay a significant amount on the young driver surcharge which could make the hire unaffordable, we suggest that if possible then you should just stick to the one driver and split the costs between you as this will be far more cost efficient.

South Africa Car Hire For Younger Drivers

We had a recent enquiry from one of our potential customers about whether they can hire a car in South Africa, the problem was that they were a young driver aged 19 and ideally wanted a low young driver fee.

We contacted a few companies located at the main South African airports in order to try and arrange some sort of deal that would allow young drivers to hire, typically 19 is an age that you would really struggle anywhere in the world.

However against the odds we eventually managed to find a supplier willing to allow this customer to hire, and we can happily announce that we can now hire to people the age of 18 given that they have held their licence for a year prior to hiring with us.

On top of already arranging a young driver deal for South Africa we also managed to arrange a few more…

Low Deposit Car Hire: Deposits are usually a big problem as they can range as high as approximately £3,000 which for many is just not an acceptable amount to have blocked on their card for the duration of your rental. This same supplier we have deals with have deposits starting as low as £80!

Debit Card Car Hire: This is another problem when you come to rent a car, most suppliers don’t accept the use of anything other than a credit card. This supplier however have agreed that our customers can use debit cards given that they meet three main restrictions.
