The Parking Ticket With An Attitude
Ever got a parking ticket and thought, if this parking ticket told me off I would never offend again? Yeah? No me either. The company FlashPark have developed a device that mimics that of a parking ticket that could replace the traditional parking ticket, or maybe not. The device resembles a parking ticket but with a distinct difference, it talks. There is a big red button located on the device with the audio sign next to it, you’re seemingly meant to click this button in order to receive your infringement notice.
When you press the button the following message is voiced “Dear motorist, this vehicle is parked on private property where parking regulations are in force. A photograph has been taken as evidence and your number plate recorded. We reserve the right to contact the DVLA for the registered keeper details if you park here again. Please ensure in future you have permission to park. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter”. When FlashPark designed this I wonder if they intended that their customers would be fearful of the talking ticket and slowly inch away making the message home that they should never park in an unauthorized area again.
I’m not too adamant that this low cost and “motorist-friendly” parking solution will take over the typical paper ticket as we know today as I don’t think there were any concerns that the ticket did the right job in the first place. According the FlashPark the next version of the device will allow you to record a message and send it back to them, I’m positive that several of these messages will be a word of thanks to FlashPark for their delightful fine as it would have cheered up their day and put a smile on their face, have fun with that FlashPark.
