As well as featuring an electronically controlled four wheel steer system it doesn\u2019t come with a manual gearbox option for the first time in the 911s 50 year history. The 911 is typically described as a rear engine, independent rear suspension, 2 door coupe speed demon, we aren\u2019t saying that all of this is changing just Porsche have stepped outside the box with this one. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The new 911 also differs from the old with bringing in the new that is of course in terms of a new aerodynamic body deeper front bumper, extra air intakes and fixed carbon fibre rear wing. It does however weight slightly more than its predecessor with a total weight of 1430kg but this is down to it being 85mm longer and 44mm wider. <\/p>\n<p>Despite everything figures speak for themselves with a 0-62mph time being 3.5 seconds and the top speed reaching an impressive and respectable 196mph. This new found power comes from a 468bhp, 324lb ft version of the 3.8 litre along with a direct injection flat six engine which is found in the Porsche Carrera S. <\/p>\n<p>They have also overhauled the suspension in order to reduce unsprung mass by 7kg in comparison to the Carreras which is the model the GT3 is truly based around. The four wheel steer system is designed to point the rear wheels in the opposite direction to the front at speeds of up to 31mph which is in order to take corners at faster entry speeds, and at speeds of over 50mph the rear wheels steer in parallel to improve stability.<\/p>\n<p>The 911 has won several awards in its many years on the road and track and rightfully so, the 911 has been rated one of the best sports cars in history. Starting in 1963 and ranging to 2013 how many more years of domination do Porsche 911\u2019s have in them?
