Nick Clegg has expressed his desire for the country to become the leading country for low emissions, he has called for help from motor industry experts to recommend ideas to help the UK with this mission. The government has committed to spending five hundred million pounds between the years 2015 and 2020 to elevate the ultra-low emission vehicle appeal and further develop the industry in order to tackle the overall larger issue.<\/p>\n
As such the government are assembling a team of local authority workers, people with interests in the sector and fleet managers to suggest the best ideas for moving forward and to maximise them in order to give the best positive impact. These people have up until the 10th Jan 2014 to express their opinions and views and then the government will reveal their plans to proceed in the following months. Is \u00a3500 million enough to reach Nick Clegg\u2019s goal?<\/p>\n
There has been a conscious effort in recent years to persuade more people to go green and get hybrid or low emission vehicles such as lowering the congestion charge for people who do. The argument on the other hand is that they are expensive and it can be hard to charge hybrid cars as many areas don\u2019t have recharger stations, the main battle in my opinion that the government face in order to roll out more economical vehicles on a large scale.<\/p>\n
In order for people to be purchasing electric cars there needs to be a lot of improvements, it needs to be as practical to use as petrol\/diesel vehicles as well as tackling the issue with it being limited on the distance it can travel as now they can only achieve short journeys. Right now all electric vehicles are is just short journey toys for a select few people, the government faces a really hard challenge.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
