A good thing or bad? The home secretary has recently come out as a critic against the UK border agency with strong words claiming that \u201cits performance was not good enough\u201d. The border agency formed back in 2008 and since has been troubled and criticized by many, the scrapping of the UK border agency or UKBA for short has come after a committee warning that the UKBA would take up to 24 years to clear their work backlog.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Attacks where launched in all directions with the blame seemingly falling on the ex-chief of UKBA with allegations that it was a \u201ccatastrophic leadership failure\u201d, being the reason for the demise of the doomed border agency. The ex-chief comforting to know is now head of the British Tax office. Despite everyone being on the attack there have also been a few defendants of the UKBA with valid points to prove.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Although criticizing the agency Theresa May also defended it claiming it wasn\u2019t really there fault and they \u201cweren\u2019t set up to absorb the mass levels of immigration\u201d. The UKBA has never been given a chance to get on top of their workload since the start of their formation. Despite this the plans go ahead to scrap the UK Border Agency and the plans are to split the agency into two sections, one to deal with the visa system and one to in force immigration laws.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Overall this is seem as a back step as in 2008 the UK border agency was formed by the formation of two groups, UKvisas and the Border and Immigration Agency join also with the detection functions of HM Revenue and customs. So surely splitting it back into two seems like a step in the wrong direction and a waste in 5 years.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The opinions on this matter are rather divided as you can see, so what\u2019s your opinion.
