Redesign and develop a new corporate image, and a website that helps to attract young professionals to the freelance industry.

Rebranding

The objective was to create an attractive and unique business image- something abstract, yet simple and understandable.

Approach

The rebranding process started with designing the website.
User-frinedly interface was introduced and illustrations were added to the layout that sported minimal colors. Communication features were enhanced as well as the overall layout of the platform.

Design Library

The GoLance design library contains a portfolio of the guidelines and standards that describe the overall design system.
One such design feature is the different appearance of the tabs in the normal state, hover state, and active state.

Process - User Interface

GoLance is an online workforce platform that allows employers and freelancers to connect from anywhere in the world. The client’s vision for the rebranded website included creating an entertaining yet professional vibe. Izabela designed the new image of GoLance while keeping in mind the latest application trends, user-friendly interface, and incorporating the client’s vision into it.

GoLance aims to become the best freelance service providing platforms in the world. Their mission is to

“Make life better for all online workers with a flexible, fair,
efficient and, transparent virtual workspace”.

The process of research and analysis of the existing general concept, layout, and features of the website highlighted the missing essence to Izabela. The designer focused on putting noticeable accents at the most important features and providing easy and quick micro-interactions by implementing a specially designed UI solution.

The UI designs that Izabela planned to improve while redesigning included:

Easy navigation and a friendly user interface.
Clear and easily recognizable icons that do not mislead users to other links.
Removing any unnecessary and distracting graphic illustrations.
Simple and friendly process of inputting data about an item.
Input data of an item not looking overloaded yet including all the necessary information in the interface elements.
Access to efficient communication means from any page of the website.
Original, creative, and entertaining illustrations that support the website theme and style concept.

As can be observed from the image of screens above, the general stylistic theme of the website was designed to be tame yet fun. The theme consists of an overall white background that contains simple artistic icons with bright accents. The informative content is not overwhelming and has high readability due to the breathing space between sections and the light background. The search feature on the main page of the website allows visitors to search for skills to find the right freelancers for their job without creating an account. Users with accounts can use the search bar to make specific searches. Moreover, the searches can also be filtered according to the desired rates, hours worked, review rates, etc.

The visiual design features of the Work Diary focus on improving communications between clients and freelancers.

Illustrations and icons on the website are digitally handcrafted. All icons are designed in a logo style and support bright accents that go well with the white background.
